
For lumber produced in Canada, the grade stamp will indicate either the individual species or one of the following species groups. The full list of approved individual species is available in Paragraph 7 of the NLGA Standard Grading Rules for Canadian Lumber.



All dimension lumber and timber species included under the NLGA Standard Grading Rules for Canadian Lumber are grouped into four design value groups. The following table provides the species allocation to the design value groups. Design values for use in Canada for these groups are provided in Paragraphs 851 to 854 .
